The 24/7 project (#twentyfourseven) embodies a natural vocation for continuous processing.
We have established efficient and intelligent production systems which allow us to tackle different orders simultaneously, exploiting the productive capacity of our manufacturing division 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. An important milestone for the cost optimization and development strategies planned for the coming years.
The production logic is multi-channel. In accordance with the schedule planned we realize numerous component parts that in addition to being assembled in kits, allow us to meet even impromptu client requests, and use production capacity to the full.
An important aspect of this project is the increase in staff rather than its reduction as would seem logical. In fact in order to obtain flexible production, with a reduced number of but continuous lots, qualified and motivated staff is required. Men and women who manage, during the day, to test the production cycles that will work without human supervision at night and weekends.
We have invested heavily, over the years, in the testing of components, by following in the footsteps of Alukeep, a subsidiary.
The company operates in accordance with the requirements of the ISO 9001 standard. For some specific applications the more restrictive ISO 9100 is applied.
The metrology lab has
All equipment is tested and calibrated at regular intervals. The testing environment is temperature regulated and constantly monitored. A maximum of 2 people are allowed in the room at the same time.
The processing in machining centres with 5 continuous axes are the focal point of the 24/7 project and the company's development policy. We are convinced that this approach to machining – a minimum of reworking of the components to be made, together with the skills of our technical office – is the best solution for a continuous variable high quality supply, which we want to maintain as a priority for the company.
With this in mind the following have been purchased over time:
The entire workflow is managed by dedicated constantly updated software. The processes and the work schedules are constantly updated and modified in order to always have maximum efficiency. Each particular product has its own support, which allows it to be traceable right from when it is first memorized.
For this reason, the ERP system is constantly fed, creating the basis for future developments, and is linked to the development of increasingly complex products.
The CAD/CAM systems in use at TOR.MEC Ambrosi are powerful tools which are not limited to designing but allow complete management of products thanks to a native PDM and integration with the already integrated CAM platform.
They allow a unique approach to the machines in use at the company. The business choice for this purpose is, and has been for many years, the Missler software TOP Solid. Today, at the company, there are 4 full licenses for workstations and a PDM server. Few companies of our size are equipped with this level of calculation power.
TOR.MEC Ambrosi uses avant-garde machinery and equipment, which are always in top condition. We are proud of often being a leader, as regards technological choices, with respect to our competitors. This allows us a competitive advantage, which is reflected in the ability to deal with increasingly important and rewarding challenges.
